Mr. Depicker oversees the execution of Li-Cycle’s commercial activities and corporate development strategy for the Europe, the Middle East and Africa (“EMEA”) regions. 
Before joining Li-Cycle, Elewout Depicker was Business Head Lithium, Manganese, Additives and Supply Chain Management at Umicore’s Rechargeable Battery Materials division. At Umicore, he was in charge of growing the global sourcing portfolio of battery raw materials going into Umicore’s PCAM and CAM products.Elewout has extensive experience in the marketing and commercialization of battery specialty chemicals. 
Mr. Depicker holds his Master of Commercial Engineering from Ghent University in Belgium.

Duarte Braga, CEO of Lifthium Energy since 2023, is a leading force in innovation within corporate strategy and sustainability. At Lifthium Energy, he drives the company's expansion into lithium refining and develops cutting-edge electrolysis-based technologies with the backing of Bondalti, a key Iberian chemicals player. His leadership is crucial for Lifthium’s ambition to become a major European player in the battery value chain.

With over 25 years of experience, Duarte's career includes serving as a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company. There, he led the European sustainability practice, managed over 1,000 staff, and played a key role in scaling and optimizing industrial and renewable energy projects across Europe and Latin America. He also doubled McKinsey’s Iberian office size and revenue and was instrumental in integrating advanced analytics and AI into business strategies, significantly boosting operational efficiency and growth.

Duarte holds an MBA from INSEAD and a Master’s in Electrical and Computer Engineering. His career showcases a strong focus on technological innovation and sustainable practices.

Márton leads the Sales and Program Development activities of ElevenEs. After graduating from the University of Lund, Sweden, Márton has worked in leading positions in international sales and business development for more than 15 years. He has worked in various industries with special focus on manufacturing sectors. After many years in multinational corporations, he embarked on a new journey to help start-up companies with their international expansion, market entry strategies and overall success in fascinating new industries. Before joining ElevenEs, he got introduced to the lithium-ion battery industry by working for Semcorp, the world’s largest separator film producer. At ElevenEs, in the last one year, he has led the research project on the ESS market and the development of the company's ESS concept and value proposal.

Nicole Neub is director of the Business Unit Battery Technology at Exyte Technology Gmbh, a leading manufacturing company with deep customer understanding in the semiconductor, bio pharma and battery industry. Before Nicole took on her current role, she worked in the sector of energy efficiency solutions and for many years as an initiative owner Battery at a market leading mechanical engineering company. Nicole is a tech enthusiast, speaker and shares insights of the new developed and launched business field of mini environments from Exyte Technology.

Pau is a distinguished professional with a master's from the College of Europe. He began his career at the European Commission, focusing on the Energy Union and Batteries sector. With over four years of dedicated service at the European association for industrial battery companies EUROBAT, he led significant policy initiatives related to the batteries regulation. Recently, Pau has embarked on a new chapter in his career as the policy director at the energy technology company CATL.

Roland Chavasse MBA is the Secretary General of the International Lithium Association (ILiA), the global industry body representing the lithium value chain, which he co-founded with Anand Sheth in 2021. Roland has a wealth of experience with rare and critical elements, including a decade of commercial experience working with tantalum, rhenium, cobalt, niobium and nickel-based superalloys. Since 2016 he has specialized in proactive metals association management, hosting conferences on four continents, managing responsible sourcing programs, editing trade journals and always advocating for members’ interests. He has previously lead the Tantalum-Niobium International Study Center (T.I.C.) and the Minor Metals Trade Association (MMTA). He is based in London, UK.

Tim is a Principal in Roland Berger's Munich office and co-leader of the firm's global battery expert team. He is a technology and market expert in electric vehicles and lithium-ion batteries, supporting clients across the entire global value chain in defining strategies and business models, building supply chains, and reducing product and operating costs. Before joining Roland Berger in 2019, Tim spent over four years as an EV technology consultant in the automotive industry and four years as an R&D engineer in mechanical and plant engineering. He holds a Master's degree in Engineering and Management from the University of Siegen.

Tamer Talu is a seasoned business leader and former Rio Tinto professional with expertise in multi-commodity strategy, corporate and business development, and general management across mining and metals and chemicals (non-commodity minerals) sectors. Moreover, he has led global and regional sales operations and go-to-market initiatives alongside project development and consultancy engagements. As founder of boutique advisory firms in Turkey and the UK, Tamer advises clients on end-to-end mergers and acquisitions services - from deal sourcing and due diligence to negotiation, joint venture formation, and all other forms of strategic partnerships in the EMEA region. He is currently pursuing a part-time doctoral research degree researching critical supply chain risks for battery raw materials.  Tamer is an enthusiast of electrification, urban mining/recycling and artificial intelligence. Jasmin Arifagic, currently serving as Vice President of Sales at Beyonder, brings extensive experience in technical solutions for energy storage, sales and business development. As VP of Sales at Beyonder he is responsible for introducing products and technology to the global market, making sure that customers and partners see the value and the potential of what the BePowered product provides. His professional journey includes pivotal roles in technical excellence at Blueday Technology AS, where he focused on energy-optimizing projects and hybrid energy storage solutions for the oil, gas, and marine sectors. With over a decade at National Oilwell Varco, Jasmin has developed expertise in control systems, contributing significantly to technological advancements in drilling operations. Karol W. Bednarek coordinates the working group "Raw Material Availability" at the VDA. Since 2017, this working group has established a raw materials monitoring focusing on battery raw materials, rare earths and sustainability. The working group provides its members with pre-competitive market information and forecasts up to 2035.

Robert Pell PhD is the Founder & CEO of Minviro, a technology and consultancy company that supports mining, metals, and low-carbon technology companies to measure and mitigate their environmental impacts. Minviro uses life cycle assessment approaches, highlighting environmental hotspots and opportunities for improvements during the development and operational stages of projects. Robert completed his PhD at Camborne School of Mines (University of Exeter) and Tsinghua University. Robert also sits on the Board of the Rare Earth Industry Association and the Critical Minerals Association.

Dr. Julian Englberger is responsible for Operations Management at PowerCo, including operations strategy, production excellence, recycling, and sustainable operations. Prior to joining PowerCo, he was a Principal at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), advising global producing companies on manufacturing & supply chain challenges. He holds a PhD from TU Dresden, with an educational background in production engineering.

Mr. HA, Frank Chun Shing, Director & Chief Executive Officer of Tianqi Lithium.

Mr. HA, Frank Chun Shing was born in 1972. He holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Management from the University of Technology Sydney, an MBA/EMBA from the CUHK Business School, and a postgraduate degree in Core Business Management from MCI Management Center Innsbruck, Austria. He is also a PhD candidate in Business Management at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. Mr. HA has previously worked as executive post for companies such as the Italian OLIP Shoe Manufacturing Group, Swarovski Tools Manufacturing Company (Austria), and Steyr Motors GmbH (Austria). He joined Tianqi Lithium Corporation in January 2021 as CEO and has served as a Director of the company since February 1, 2021, overseeing overall and daily operations. Additionally, Mr. HA currently holds directorships in several of the company's subsidiaries.

Lisset Urrutia is Head of Research and Development at SVOLT Energy Technology Europe. Lisset’s goal is to set up the right facilities to give support to SVOLT’s customers, drive the establishment of the local supply chain as well as look into advanced technologies. As a chemical engineer with a master’s degree from Université Paul Sabatier (Toulouse III) in electrochemistry, she has more than twelve years of practical experience in the development of both lithium-ion and post lithium-ion batteries as well as production processes. Throughout her career, Lisset has held international positions at companies like Baxter, Smurfit Kappa or OXIS Energy. She has previously worked in Colombia, Spain, England, China and now Germany.

Tom Fairlie is Senior Sustainability Manager for the Cobalt Institute, the global not-for-profit industry association representing the full cobalt value chain. His work at the Cobalt Institute focuses on the development of life cycle assessment data on cobalt products, development of circular economy approaches, and the decarbonisation of cobalt value chains – whilst advocating the need for a just energy transition.

James Baek, Vice President of CNGR Europe, America and Africa & Head of Global Recycling / Combining more than 13years expertise and global experience in Battery recycling business, he is devoted to build “Closed-loop” as CNGR’s core mission.

Mark is responsible for life cycle management and sustainability issues in the LCA & Sustainability team. He monitors regulatory developments likely to impact the nickel industry and identifies opportunities to contribute to the academic and scientific debate on life cycle assessment and the benefits of using and recycling nickel. He is moreover involved into the development of global sustainability standards. Mark is based in Brussels.

Prior to joining the Nickel Institute in 2008, Mark worked as REACH Coordinator at Aurubis, the integrated copper group and copper recycler and as Environmental Manager at Eurometaux, the European non-ferrous metals association.
Mark holds a degree in Economic Geology and has a PhD in Mining Engineering both from Aachen RWTH Technical University (Germany).

Astrid is an expert in responsible mineral supply chains and responsible sourcing. With 15 years of experience in international development (primarily at GIZ, The German Agency for International Cooperation) she has advised governments on different continents and worked globally on ESG issues in the mining sector. She has collaborated with international NGOs as well as at the interface of government and private sector. Her experience with multiple stakeholders and certification schemes in the responsible sourcing and ESG space will be of great value to ILiA and its members. 
Astrid holds a master’s degree in Global Studies and an MBA. She is fluent in English, French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish. She has strong analytical skills with a strategic mindset and likes to be continuously challenged. Astrid is based in Lisbon, Portugal. 

Scott Taylor, CEO and Director of LiTHOS. With over 20 years of experience spanning finance, energy, mining, defense, and civil engineering, Scott has managed over US$250 million in technical solutions. He co-founded Reservoir Imaging Solutions, recognized among the top 10 subsurface oilfield technologies. At LiTHOS, Scott leads initiatives in lithium extraction technology, driving advancements in the European market and local value chains. His expertise in manufacturing innovations, future advanced battery technology, and long-term sustainability make him a pivotal figure in the Li-ion battery sector. Scott holds a BSc in Finance from Franklin College, Switzerland, and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists.

Founding member of the FAAM Group which, since its establishment in 1974, has produced high energy efficiency batteries both lead acid and lithium with a complete Circular Economy model, he is currently Vice President of FIB S.p.A, a company established by the SERI Industrial Group to give continuity to the FAAM project.

Very active in the Italian political and social fields, f.e. President for the Ascoli Piceno Province, counselor of the Credito Cooperativo Picena Bank and serving in many roles for Confindustria (both at local and national level), in 2012 he was nominated “Cavaliere del Lavoro” by the President of the Italian Republic.

Andreas Fischer is active in the field of electrochemical energy storage and conversion for more than 25 years. After studying chemistry and a diploma thesis on electrochemical deposition of photovoltaic elements he finished his PhD studies with a thesis on fuel cells at TU Darmstadt / Germany. He joined BASF in Ludwigshafen / Germany in 1997 as a lab team manager in R&D Electrochemistry. Early 2000 Andreas spent three years in marketing Inorganic Chemicals at BASF and returned afterwards to R&D assuming responsibility for global R&D Electrochemistry. Since 2012 he is Executive Expert and Vice President “Batteries and Electrochemistry” at BASF. He established and lead R&D teams located in Japan, North America, and Germany. Currently Andreas is working in the field of cathode active materials for Li-ion batteries with a special focus on monitoring the battery technology development for automotive applications. Based on his broad expertise in the field of electrochemical energy storage he serves on several advisory boards of mainly academic institutions. Since 2016 Andreas is a member of the advisory council “Battery Research Germany” of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

Vincent Raufast is Global Lead for Advisory at OCO Global.OCO Global is a UK-headquartered consulting firm with over 180 consultants worldwide, specializing in international strategy for public and private sector clients.
The firm helps organizations navigate global expansion and unlock growth opportunities, with a strong focus on impact-driven economic solutions.
Vincent has 20 years of experience in foreign direct investment, economic development and location strategy. He advises companies, from scale-ups to large corporations, on their international footprint strategies, particularly in the new energy and electric vehicle (EV) sectors. Before joining OCO Global, Vincent was an Associate Partner at EY Consulting, where he led the International Location Advisory Services (lLAS) team.

With over 30 years of experience in the automotive sector, Dr. Martens stands as a foremost expert in product management, procurement, and cost-reduction strategies. With this expertise, he is now the Managing Director and Executive Vice President of Samsung SDI Europe, bringing his innovative vision and proven expertise to the forefront of the battery industry. After graduating as an industrial engineer from the University of Kaiserslautern, he began his career at Mercedes-Benz in Stuttgart where he earned his PhD. After various other stations, Dr. Martens started his career at Volkswagen Group. Over nearly 20 years there, he held several key leadership roles including positions in Product Planning, Product Management, and Procurement at Volkswagen do Brazil. Following that, he moved to Volkswagen AG as Head of Procurement for New Product Launches. From 2012, he was on Audi AG’s Board of Management, responsible for procurement. Six years later, he also took over the IT department within the Procurement division, expanding his area of responsibility to include reorganization, governance, technology, and partnering.

Leon, is one of the founders of 8inks. He leads business and finance in the company and has a business and engineering MSc. degree from TU Munich. Before 8inks, Leon spent +5 years at Google across global go-to-market roles.

Julien MASSON is an experienced strategy and business development executive with extended experience in the mines, metals and energy industries. He worked on a large scope of commodities including metals (aluminum, nickel, manganese, lithium, titanium, zircon, rare earth) and energy (power, natural gas, oil, coal) and on climate change related issues. Julien started his career with various strategic energy positions in the aluminum industry, within Pechiney, then Alcan and finally Rio Tinto. Julien joined Eramet in 2011 as Group Energy Manager. In 2018, Julien became Director of Strategy and Business Development of the Mining and Metals Division. In 2021, he was appointed Group Strategy Director. Since 2024 he has been in charge of developing a Battery Recycling Business for Eramet.

Anne Oxley was encouraged to head towards metallurgy by an inspirational chemistry teacher, Mr David Miller, who changed her views on what might be possible as a career. She was always very good at sciences but until then had been directed as are many girls in that situation towards medicine. Mr Miller suggested that metallurgy may be a great option. He had another previous student (Dame Sue Ions) who had studied metallurgy at Imperial College and suggested she do the same. Anne followed his advice and enjoyed her time immensely at the Royal School of Mines (RSM), even making her first steps in a male world becoming Vice President of the RSMU.

Paolo Campanella, Secretary General of the European Waste Management Association (FEAD) since September 2023, Paolo brings over a decade of experience in the environmental and waste sectors in Europe and Ethiopia. As environmental engineer, he has expertise in designing and managing waste treatment plants and evaluating project proposals. Since joining FEAD in January 2022 as a Technical Officer, he has advanced the organization's initiatives by aligning FEAD’s vision with practical implementation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering and a master’s degree specializing in soil protection from the University of Padova.

Anthony Tse is the founder of NEO Capital and an active investor in the global battery value chain - having deployed capital in numerous companies across the value chain, including positive, negative, next-generation battery materials, battery manufacturing and battery recycling companies.

Anthony has 15 years of experience in the field of energy transition covering the battery value chain. He is the former Managing Director and CEO of Galaxy Resources, where he served on the board for more than a decade and was responsible for managing the global lithium business and project development portfolio in Australia, China, Argentina and Canada. During his tenure, he created Allkem and merged with Orocobre in 2021, growing the company from a junior mining development company to one of the top 5 lithium producers in the world. Allkem recently merged with Livent to create Arcadium.

He currently serves as a director of Li-Cycle Corp. (NYSE: LICY), a leading battery recycling and resource recovery company in North America and Europe, as well as anode technology for next-generation lithium solid-state batteries, lithium Metal, and lithium Metal developer Li-Metal (CSE: LIM). In addition, he is a Senior Advisor to Sicona Battery Technologies, a developer of silicon composites for advanced lithium battery anode technology, and Critical Resources (ASX: CRR, a natural resources company focused on the development of lithium and other key metals, is a strategic consultant to Canada and Novalith Technologies, a developer of lithium extraction technology.

Eng. Rajapandian Rajagopal is a seasoned Electrochemist with over a decade of experience in industrial metal recycling. He has developed process technology for various waste streams, including those from the semiconductor industry, magnetic storage industry, mine tailings, and batteries. Currently, he is working with Verkor in the battery recycling industry, focusing on establishing a closed-loop recycling process for battery production scraps. His deep expertise and strong business and operational focus make him a key figure in industrial recycling.

Arnaud Dubief is the Head of Clients and Expansion Programs at Hydrovolt, overseeing intake sourcing and offtake sales. He joined the company in 2022, after holding various positions in investment banking and tech start-ups

Andrea Di Masi is External Affairs Associate at SQM, based in Brussels. With a strong focus on EU environmental policies and ESG topics, Andrea operates at the intersection of public affairs, communication, and corporate sustainability. His role involves strategic advocacy and stakeholder engagement with policymakers, industry associations, NGOs, and the media. Prior to joining SQM in September 2023, Andrea held different positions in Brussels-based organizations engaged in EU policy making in the areas of energy and sustainability. Andrea’s knowledge in this field is integrated by an academic background in political science and EU studies, holding an MSc in EU Politics from the London School of Economics.

Since 2017, Florian Anderhuber has been working in the field of raw materials covering due diligence, trade, energy, climate and sustainability, both from a corporate and an association angle. In his capacity as Deputy Director General of Euromines, the EU mining association, he focuses on mining-related sustainability, energy and climate policies with a passion for the contribution of mining to the net-zero transition. He is also addressing EU mining causes in various EU Expert Groups and at OECD level. Florian holds a PhD s from Bonn University, and Master Degrees from SciencesPo Paris and Fudan University.

Özak Durmuş, Product Sustainability Leader at Ford Otosan, completed his BSc in Mechanical Engineering at Hacettepe University. Since joining Ford Otosan in 2013, he has accrued over a decade of experience, transitioning from a Senior R&D Engineer to his current role. He spearheads multiple EV Battery Circularity Projects and the award-winning ReCube initiative. Özak has been leading nine EU-funded projects, seven under the H2020 and Horizon Europe programs, focusing on innovative recycling methods, second-life applications for EV batteries, and reusing critical and strategic raw materials from recycled sources. His expertise in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Circular Economy principles, coupled with advanced proficiency in sustainable plastic applications for automotive components and LCA tools like SimaPro, Sphera, GREET, and OpenLCA, underscores his strategic vision for sustainability. Özak's work has earned accolades, reflecting his pivotal role in advancing sustainable practices in the automotive industry.

Dr. Chong Luo, a Ph.D. graduate from Tsinghua University, currently serves as the General Manager of the New Energy Materials Business Unit at Hailiang Group and as the Director of the New Energy Materials Research Institute. Specializing in advanced metal materials processing and manufacturing technology, Dr. Luo engages in new material development, material microstructure research, material property modification, and intelligent manufacturing.
Dr. Luo has led or participated in 6 national and provincial projects, as well as 3 international collaborative projects. He has authored a total of 9 papers, with 4 as the first or second author in SCI journals and 1 in an EI journal. Additionally, he has presented at international conferences on 3 occasions. Dr. Luo is credited with filing 11 patents, 4 of which have been granted, and has led or participated in drafting 5 industry-related standards. He has also initiated 2 national standard projects, which are currently in progress.
Furthermore, Dr. Luo has been honored with the National Scholarship on 3 occasions, received the McKay Helm Special Award from the American Welding Society (a top-tier professional association), and has been recognized as an Outstanding Graduate of Beijing Municipality. He has received multiple academic innovation honors, including the first prize in innovation and entrepreneurship competitions. His research achievements have been featured on the national news program "CCTV News."

Stefan Crets joined CSR Europe as Executive Director in February 2011. Before joining CSR Europe, Stefan Crets was the General Manager of Corporate Planning at Toyota Motor Europe. His main responsibilities were the coordination of European Regional Hoshin, the European Executive Committee and the overall corporate planning activities.
Prior to his experience at Toyota, he was Programme Advisor at the King Baudouin Foundation (1997-2001). He started his professional career as an academic at the University of Antwerp, Department of Sociology (1987-1997), focusing on the measurement of well-being and the management of the social welfare state, as well as teaching organisational sociology and quantitative research methods.

Jared Zhu joined SMM in 2020, with ~5 years experience in strategic consulting & market intelligence and serving Fortune 500 enterprises. Maria Ma, Head of the Lithium and Recycling Industry at Shanghai Metals Market, holds a Master's degree in Financial Data Science from the University of Sydney.  She specializes in research on the lithium and recycling industries, with a focus on lithium mines, lithium carbonate, lithium hydroxide, and various aspects of recycling. Maria Ma possesses extensive research experience in the Li-ion battery supply chain and recycling sector. He possesses extensive knowledge in corporate finance strategy, project management, and the management of international, multicultural, and multi-brand organizations. Andrzej is deeply interested in the battery industry, where he actively implements his innovative ideas through his work at QSense.

Casper Peeters is CEO of E-magy, an advanced material specialist which creates nano-porous silicon for advanced Li-ion batteries. The material is designed for high-silicon application (silicon as only active anode material), facilitating high energy density and fast charge capability combined with scalable production and low carbon footprint.
Casper also advises and invests in other fast-growing companies that make the world smarter and more sustainable. Previously he was CEO of Xsens, a 3D motion tracking company which he co-founded and sold to Silicon Valley icon Fairchild Semiconductor in 2014. He holds a Master’s degree in Physics from University of Twente, The Netherlands.

Emanuel Proença is Savannah Resources´ Chief Executive Officer since 2023. His focus has been advancing the Barroso Lithium Project, the most significant spodumene project in Europe, to initiate production by the end of 2026. This project, fundamental to Europe´s energy transition, will produce an average of 191 kt/annual spodumene concentrate (5.5% Li2O) that will supply sufficient lithium for approximately 0.5 million to 1 million vehicle battery packs per annum. Emanuel has been instrumental in driving the company and the project’s strategic vision and development, growing the team and leading new partnership agreements. Emanuel is also a member of Savannah’s Board of Directors.
With extensive experience in energy, green fuels production, market development and electric mobility, Emanuel has held various leadership roles in well-established corporations, namely with PRIO, the largest producer of biofuels in Portugal and one of the largest European producers of biodiesel from waste raw materials.
Emanuel holds a Master’s in Industrial Engineering and Management from Instituto Superior Técnico and an MBA from INSEAD and The Wharton School.

Fedor joined WMC early 2021 bringing in a breadth of finance, risk management and project management experience across industries. Before that, Fedor spent 11 years in Investment Banking, most recently as Executive Director at Goldman Sachs–responsible for financing and risk management in infrastructure, mining, cleantech, renewables focused, commodity and project financing with projects and acquisitions on a global basis.

Fedor is responsible for the daily management, transaction execution and new initiatives across the battery materials team; he also oversees WMC’s asset development activities in the clean energy supply chain. 

Fedor has a MSc degree in Systems Engineering Policy Analysis & Management from the Technical University of Delft as well as a MSc degree in Finance & Investments from the Rotterdam School of Management (Erasmus University).

Boris Martor dedicated his career to Projects & Energy transactions in Europe and Africa for more than 25 years and has advised on financing mandates in France and in 50-plus countries on the African continent since then, with a particular focus on renewables, mining, decarbonation and new mobility.

He advises investment corporations, sponsors, developers, banks, governments and state-owned companies on the structuring and negotiation of major, market-changing development and project financings in those sectors, from mining extraction to energy storage, solar, wind, hydropower and desalination projects. 

He has recently been particularly focused on transactions relating to the whole battery supply chain for electric vehicles, from the extraction of rare or critical minerals and securing supply to the construction of battery facilities in Europe and Africa.

Taha Uluhan is an innovative engineer with a strong commitment to sustainability in the automotive sector. Educated in Mechanical Engineering at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, he began his career consulting on electric vehicle (EV) projects, gaining essential industry insights. His dedication led him to Mercedes Benz, where he was a technical project manager working on the development of their first 100% electric model series, Smart Facelift (2019), and later influenced future vehicle platforms in the Strategic Project Department for Compact Cars & SUVs.

Simultaneously, Taha pursued a PhD focused on sustainable recycling processes, foundational to his later entrepreneurial efforts. He founded Novocycle Technologies, developing a patented recycling technology for Lithium-Ion Batteries that eschews traditional shredding to prevent impure black mass production. As CEO, Taha drives Novocycle’s mission to achieve true circularity in the battery industry and eliminate greenwashing through radical transparency, championing innovative recycling methods that maximize material reusability and environmental integrity.

Due to the increased demand for electric vehicles and subsequently the increased requirement for critical raw materials for EV batteries there has been a greater emphasis on supply chain regulation and transparency. By August 2025 EU regulation demands that economic operators involved in the EV battery supply chain will have to show traceability for Cobalt, lithium, nickel, and natural graphite. Pavel Tsedenov, CEO of ReSource,  will talk about how the correct material traceability software can ensure regulatory compliance and whilst allowing for greater transparency in the critical raw material supply chain.

Pavel Tsedenov is the CEO of ReSource, and has vast experience in strategy, product management, sustainability and business development. He is the CEO of ReSource  and has an in-depth knowledge of the EV battery market, supply chain and its corresponding regulations.

Manuel de Sousa Martins, CEO of Aurora Lithium, brings a wealth of experience in managing large-scale industrial projects, most notably from his tenure as CEO of Secil in Portugal. With a deep expertise in environmental management and a comprehensive understanding of the Setúbal industrial cluster—where both Secil and Aurora are based—Manuel plays a crucial role in advancing Aurora's innovative circular-economy business model.  instrumental in the development of a cutting-edge lithium conversion unit in Setúbal, reinforcing the region's importance in the critical metal supply chain. Manuel's experience is particularly relevant as Europe navigates the transition to a low-carbon future, providing valuable perspectives on the construction and outlook of a low-carbon supply chain in Europe.

Hrvoje Pandžić is a Professor at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing. His primary research interests include electricity markets and lithium-ion batteries. He published over 80 research papers in top-tier journals and holds a patent Method for Experimental Determination of Battery Parameters and Their Use. He is a recipient of Award Science by the Government of the Republic of Croatia in 2018 and the Award for the highest scientific and artistic achievements in Croatia by the Croatian Academy of Science and Arts for 2018. He has led 8 European research projects and over 20 projects for industry partners as a principal investigator.

With more than 30 years of experience in business consultancy and management of chemical and advanced materials business in Belgium, Morocco and China, Fabrice gained strong experience on strategy, M&A, manufacturing, marketing, finance and innovation on high growth new technology business. 

Prior joining Avicenne in 2019, Fabrice was Chief Innovation Officer of the Prayon group. One of his core focus was the development of cathode materials. In this field, he earned a strong expertise on the battery value chain and  served as COO of Belife, a joint venture with Umicore and as a  Director of Prayon Pulead Technology, a leading Chinese-based LFP manufacturer.

With Avicenne Energy, Fabrice has advised numerous companies in North America, Europe and Morocco, including OEMs, cell manufacturers, potential suppliers of cathode active materials and precursors.

He holds a Master in Chemical Engineering, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration, an Executive Degree in Tax Law and an Executive Master in Management.

Kamila joined Eurometaux in March 2017 and she is in charge of the Sustainability Department. 
Her professional experience includes working in an environmental consultancy (eko-net.pl) advising amongst others on the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS). In 2006 she joined APPLiA representing household appliance industry, where she dealt with energy efficiency, e-waste and chemicals. Later on, she moved to the machine tools industry association, CECIMO, and was responsible for ecodesign, standardisation, EU funded projects and technical dossiers.
Kamila studied Environmental Protection and Management in Poland at Gdansk University of Technology (BSc) and Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun (MSc).

Ciprian Gabel is the International Business Director (EMEA) at Tinci Materials, where he is currently spearheading the expansion of the company’s electrolytes division into the European and Indian markets. With over 15 years of B2B experience, Ciprian has developed a keen expertise in building strategic partnerships and driving growth for Chinese companies in the international business landscape.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management and a Master’s degree in Chinese Business and Economics, having studied in China, Germany, and Romania. Ciprian’s career includes advertising, with projects for Fortune 500 companies and a decade of experience in Chinese international business, previously holding key marketing positions at Guangdong Polysil and Tianqi Lithium.
A dynamic leader with a global perspective, Ciprian combines his in-depth understanding of both Western and Asian markets to create successful, cross-cultural business strategies. 

Richard Clark is the Global Head of Specialty Materials and Processes for Appian Capital Advisory, responsible for technical and intellectual property assessment and oversight in energy related-businesses. He is based in London.

Born in England, Richard has been based in U.S.A., South Korea, and P. R. China with a wide variety of roles ranging from product creation to international sales and management. His work in the lithium-ion battery field has mostly been focused on developing novel electrode active materials and related manufacturing processes. His most recent development was on a low-cost method for manufacturing oxide electrolyte materials for solid-state batteries, for which he is one of the named inventors on related patents. 

Richard is a dual national with U.S. and U.K. citizenships. He holds a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Cambridge and is also a registered United States Patent Agent. 

Charles Stuyck obtained his Master of Science degree (MSc) in Energy from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium) in 2009, followed by a Master's in General Management from the Vlerick Business School a year later.
In 2010, he joined Umicore and completed various operations assignments within the Electro-Optic Materials business unit, both in Belgium and the United States.
By 2014, Charles transitioned to the role of Sales and Business Developments Manager within the Battery Recycling unit.
In 2020 he moved to a Senior R&D Program Manager role for Rechargeable Battery Materials Business Unit, leading large scale innovation programs across the cathode material value chain.
Since June 2022, Charles Stuyck has served as the Business Director for the Battery Recycling Business Unit, responsible for global supply, sales, business development, strategic roadmapping, and partnerships.

Chris, a British and Belgian national, has worked in EU trade associations across the electric vehicle supply chain over the last 13 years. He joins AVERE after a decade leading the public affairs and communication programme for Eurometaux, Europe’s metals association, where he was an instrumental industry voice in raising Critical Raw Materials up the EU political agenda.

Ulrik Grape is President 24M Europe focusing on business development, partnerships and potential investors for 24M Technologies. Ulrik has 30 years of experience from the li-ion battery market in five different startups in the US, France and Denmark, bringing these companies into the commercial market and scale production or developing partnerships with leading industrial to exploit the technology. In his executive roles in these startups Ulrik also possesses wide experience in fund raising and IPO and exit scenarios for these startups. Ulrik has a Bachelors degree in International Affairs from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C, and a MBA from INSEAD in France. Ulrik carries a Norwegian passport but his professional career has been outside Norway.

Timo Rabe, Business Development Manager with Quintus Technologies AB, holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Kiel in Germany. He has been working on battery and electrolyte chemistries in previous roles and currently works at Quintus Technologies on developing ISP technologies for use in the solid-state battery market.

Ekin’s journey is a testament to her passion for innovation and sustainability, having successfully navigated the worlds of law and investment banking before pivoting to entrepreneurship.
As a lawyer, she represented clients in high-stakes disputes and provided strategic guidance on complex regulatory matters in mining. As an investment banker, Ekin leveraged her legal background and analytical acumen to work on transactions involving renewable energy companies and automotive OEMs such as Linamar and Magna International. Her role involved structuring deals, conducting in-depth industry analyses, and advising clients on M&A, and financing strategies aimed at promoting sustainable growth. She started her career as a Marketing Specialist for UNDP in Africa. She joined the European Commission in Brussels in 1993 and she also ran her own consultancy firm. 
She started as Director of the Brussels office for Catalonia Trade & Investment in  April 2003. 

Along her 30 years of professional career she specialised in supporting private companies in Europe in a large range of sectors. Over the last 20 years she focused  in Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg as well as in accessing EU funds.

She speaks Catalan, French, Portuguese, Spanish, English, Italian and she is struggling with Dutch.

Emmanuel De Beughem serves as the Head of Inward Investment at hub.brussels, the Brussels Agency for Business Support. With over 20 years of experience in international trade, investment promotion, and economic development, Emmanuel has been instrumental in attracting foreign direct investment to the Brussels region. His leadership spans strategic engagements with major economic hubs globally, including partnerships with China, where he has fostered strong ties with cities like Shenzhen. Emmanuel’s efforts focus on creating opportunities for collaboration in high-tech, green energy, and digital sectors, positioning Brussels as a key destination for international investors. He has represented Brussels in various international forums, playing a pivotal role in promoting the region’s economic potential.

With a background in international business and emerging markets, Arne Aertbeliën joined the hub.Brussels team in October 2022 as an area manager for invest covering the Asian region. In his position he occupies himself with assisting Asian businesses establish an entity in Brussels and helping them with matters related to incorporation, taxation, hiring of employees, visa applications, accessing venture capital and applying for innovation grants. In his short tenure he already helped organize delegations to CIFTIS in Beijing and CHTF in Shenzhen in 2023.

Ana Cabral is CEO and co-Chairperson of Sigma Lithium (Nasdaq: SGML), the world’s fourth largest industrial and mineral lithium complex. Sigma is the only company producing “Quintuple Zero Green Lithium” to power the next generation of electric vehicle batteries with carbon neutral, socially and environmentally sustainable lithium concentrate. 
Ana invested in Sigma Lithium in 2012 and she has been co-leading  the Company since its IPO in 2018, transforming it from a greenfield project into a global large scale and low cost leading supplier within the lithium supply chain.
Ana has become a global protagonist in entrepreneurship towards achieving a just and clean energy transition, 
Ana is a co-founder of of private equity firm A10 Investimentos. She has more than 25 years of experience as a senior M&A and capital markets banker at top global investment banks in New York, London and São Paulo, including Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs where she was Head of Latin American Capital Markets. Overall she has worked on more than USD 100 billion worth of transactions.
Ana serves on the Global Advisory Board of Columbia University, where she graduated with an MBA. She also has a masters from London Business School. She is a member of Future Initiative Institute and a member of Aspen Institute.

Gregory Fourgeaud is the Head of Battery EMEA at +GF+ Georg Fischer Piping Systems, a global leader renowned for its thermoplastic production of safe and reliable piping solutions for a vast array of industries. The company’s products and services are utilized worldwide, across plants of all sizes within the battery sector.
Gregory brings extensive expertise, having worked across a broad spectrum of industries including civil engineering, defence, nuclear, transportation, and battery technology. His distinguished career spans various executive management and commercial roles within ENGIE, a prominent French multinational specializing in low-carbon energy and services. Prior to joining +GF+, he held the position of Business Development Director for the export market at EQUANS Process Industries, part of the Bouygues Group. He holds a Master of Science degree from London South Bank University, complementing his French academic background in civil engineering.

Daria Arbuzova is a dedicated business developer with over 8 years of experience in Supply Chain Management and Metal Trading, with a strong focus on sustainability, especially in battery recycling. She currently leads business development for Green Li-Ion in Europe, where she focuses on selling innovative recycling solutions for Lithium-Ion Batteries (LIBs) and precursor Cathode Active Materials (pCAM).
Daria has worked on important global projects, including a major European Gigafactory, and has gained expertise in the pCAM and Black Mass markets, both essential for the future of battery supply chains. Her work aims to improve how waste from old batteries, gigafactories, and digital scrap is handled, making battery production and recycling more sustainable.
At Green Li-Ion, Daria helped shape the company’s strategy for recycling equipment sales, offtake agreements, and securing the supply chain.

Mr. Laurens Swennenhuis is an accomplished leader in the fire protection industry with over three decades of global experience. After earning his degree in Electrical Engineering in 1989, he began his career at Tyco International in 1991, went through various positions such as Sales Manager for the Middle East, Director of Operations & Product Management EMEA, and Managing Director EMEA. Following Tyco's merger with Johnson Controls in 2016, Laurens held senior roles, including Vice President of Global Sales and Executive Director of Williams Fire & Hazards. Currently, he serves as CEO of ExxFire. His expertise spans across water suppression, foam extinguishing, gas suppression, and fire detection systems, making him a recognized figure in the field of fire protection.

Giorgia Epicoco is an expert in industrial and environmental policies and currently serves as Senior EU Affairs Manager and Sustainability & Industrial Policy Lead at Huawei Europe. With extensive experience in policy development and international relations, Giorgia is known for her commitment to sustainable industrial development and the promotion of renewable energy, which is recognized through her roles as an Ambassador for the EU Sustainable Energy Week and for Women in Solar in Europe.

Before joining Huawei, Giorgia worked at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Vienna, where she coordinated global initiatives related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution and industrial skills development. Dr. Yu Yu is the Project Specialist and Materials Researcher at Almath Crucibles Ltd. in Cambridge, UK. With a background in Materials Science and Engineering (BSc, MSc, and PhD), she has over 7 years of experience in developing, processing, characterising, and manufacturing ionic-conducting/MIEC ceramics.
She is actively involved in government and industry-funded research projects, collaborating closely with higher education institutions such as the University of Nottingham and the University of Cambridge. Her research focuses on developing advanced ceramic materials, as well as investigating the electrochemical characterisation and applications of ionic conducting and mixed ionic-electronic conducting (MIEC) ceramics. Her work has a broad range of applications in energy conversion and storage devices, including solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs), ion batteries, and supercapatteries.

Dr. Daniel Schoenfelder is Senior Vice President of BASF's global business unit Battery Base Metals and Recycling. He studied chemistry at the renowned Technical University of Munich, Germany, where he graduated in 2001. He received his PhD in chemistry in 2004. Daniel joined BASF in 2004 as a researcher in Global Polymer Research. During his 18-years career with BASF in Belgium, Hong Kong, Singapore, Brazil, and Germany, Daniel has held various leadership positions in sales and key account management, marketing and strategy, as well as regional and global business unit management. In 2019, Daniel has moved to BASF's batteries materials and recycling division as Vice President, responsible for the European region. In 2023, Daniel assumed responsibility for BASF's Global Battery Base Metals and Recycling business unit. Under his leadership, BASF is establishing secured, resilient, and sustainable supply chains into base metals, such as lithium, nickel, cobalt, and manganese, and is additionally expanding its battery recycling offering and production footprint to close the loop to a circular economy.

Marian has more than fifteen years of global banking and investment experience. Marian is also the Co-Founder of IPM Group, an asset and wealth management company specialising in infrastructure and infrastructure technology companies (“Infratech”) with an investment team of more than 40 professionals from San Francisco, London, Bratislava, Hong Kong to Seoul, Korea. Under Marian’s leadership, IPM Group grew from zero to US$1bn in assets under management across a portfolio that he built in five years. There he plays a significant role in building iconic infrastructure and Infratech assets such as Dunkirk LNG, the largest LNG terminal in continental Europe as well as Tachyum, the leading next generation AI universal chip company. Prior to co-founding IPM Group, Marian worked at InfraMed Infrastructure, one of the largest emerging market private equity infrastructure funds, and at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the investment arm of the World Bank where he worked on the development and financing of a number of industry-first infrastructure projects (including Tafila, the largest wind farm in the Middle East; Engro Energy, Pakistan’s first IPP project or Enerjisa, Turkey’s largest renewable energy portfolio company). Marian holds a bachelor’s in economics from Oberlin College and an MSc in finance from the University of Cambridge in the UK.

Roland Chavasse is a critical materials specialist with commercial and association management experience of lithium, tantalum, niobium, rhenium, scandium, cobalt and more. 
In 2021 he co-founded the International Lithium Association (ILiA) with Anand Sheth and the support of six of the leading lithium producers. He has worked in the field of critical raw materials, especially rare/minor metals for almost 20 years, including time as Director of the Tantalum-Niobium International Study Center (T.I.C.), as an analyst with Roskill (now Wood Mackenzie), trading bulk chemicals from Russia, and managing logistics for cobalt and rhenium trading firms. 
In his previous role at the T.I.C. he developed guidance on transporting naturally occurring radioactive materials, launched the Anders Gustaf Ekeberg Tantalum Prize, and managed T.I.C.’s first conference in Central Africa. 
He has a degree in geography and an MBA.  

Martim Facada is the Managing Director of Lithium Trading at Traxys with eight years of experience in the lithium market, including pricing, sourcing, supply, and risk management of spodumene, lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide contracts for customers around the world. Prior to Traxys, Mr. Facada worked at SCB Group structuring and executing the first ever lithium futures trade done on an exchange. 

Dr. Lorenzo M. Orsini is the R&D Director at Alkeemia, European leader for the product of Hydrogen Fluoride and relevant products. He achieved a PhD degree based on the development of Fluorinated materials for surface modification at University of Pisa. After an experience as assistant researcher at Virginia Commonwealth University, he spent 10 years in the flexible packaging industry developing new technologies and products. As R&D Director in Weylchem Italy, he had the opportunity to work in the field of fluorination organic chemistry for segments as Agrochemicals, Pharma, Performance Materials and Electronics as contract manufacturer. He’s a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Design for Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. Today, he’s supporting the development of HF downstream business through the implementation of new fluorinated product portfolio related to the energy storage sector and innovative fluorination technologies.

Safak Aktekin has been an integral part of CHEP since 2014, holding a variety of key roles within the organization. In 2018, he ascended to the position of Senior Director of Commercial for CHEP Automotive and Industrial Solutions, headquartered in Germany. In this pivotal role, Aktekin is leading the sector's transformation, expertly overseeing customer portfolio strategy, and driving innovative business development initiatives. Before joining the CHEP team, he had over a decade of experience in logistics, serving in multiple capacities at a leading company in the industry.

Ms. Norheim currently serves as Executive Vice President, Corporate Public Affairs and Sustainability of FREYR.
She previously served as FREYR Battery’s Executive Vice President, Human Resources, Sustainability and Communications. Prior to joining FREYR, Ms. Norheim was with Spencer Stuart and also held executive roles at Norsk Hydro and Equinor, serving as Chief Sustainability Officer and SVP Reserves & Field Development. Ms. Norheim has also held the positions of Senior Advisor in the Office of the Prime Minister of Norway and State Secretary to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance.
Ms. Norheim holds an M.Sc. in Economics and Business Administration from the Norwegian School of Economics and Hochschule St.Gallen in Switzerland.

Luciana Rendace is a Senior Project Manager for Drive Sustainability, a collaborative platform of 18 automotive companies, facilitated by CSR Europe. She is responsible for the area of responsible sourcing of raw materials – there she supports the setup and promotion of common standardized tools and methods for sustainable sourcing management and the implementation of impact key projects. Previously, she worked as a Knowledge Management Consultant at UNDP Tunisia, in the Access to Justice programme. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Sciences and Middle Eastern Studies and a Master’s degree in International Development from Sciences Po Paris.

Iola is Research Manager at Rho Motion working on electric vehicle, battery, charging and energy storage market analysis, and has been with the company since its inception. She leads the company’s research into the stationary storage market and battery demand. She holds a Masters Degree in Geophysics from University College London.

Greg Pitt is Vice President of our battery materials growth team. He works to identify key growth areas and technology advancements within the battery materials market. His early career began in the automotive and manufacturing industry, over 20 years ago. But during the economic downturn in 2009, he left to join a consulting company in Australia that specialized in infrastructure. Two weeks after he joined, he discovered that the company had been acquired by Worley. That was 13 years ago now, and we are proud of him still growing his career here. He works to set our strategy and steer the business into the most valuable parts of the market. It´s a lot of spinning plates, but tremendously exciting.

Mr Thompson has over 30 years’ global experience in the geoscience, technology and mineral industries and 20 years in public company leadership and capital markets. Mr Thompson founded Talga and previously founded and served on the Board of ASX-listed Catalyst Metals Limited. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists, the Society of Economic Geologists, and the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology.

Marijanti is the Country Head for Serbia as of March 1 this year. In this role she is accountable for all external facing engagements of Rio Tinto in country (not only external affairs, but also academia, NGO / CSO, media communications, communication with local community, international donors, etc). She joined the Jadar Project in 2019 and was the Senior legal counsel for Borates and Lithium before being promoted to Country Head. As part of her previous role she has had exposure in various segments of RT Minerals business (RBM in South Africa, CDK in France, Boron and Wilmington in the US and Rincon in Argentina). 
Marijanti gained her university degree in Law in Macedonia and soon afterwards moved to Serbia. Her professional career started at the end of 2006 when she joined reputable law office Prica & Partners, starting from scratch. During her engagement there she gained vast experience, passed her bar exam and progressed to Junior Partner. She was invited to join Big 4 company EY in June 2015 and there had the responsibility to set up the EY Law team and for business development in Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia. 
She has been married to Milos for 18 years and has a 9 years old son - Nikola.

Peng Cao obtained bachelor degree in Chemistry in 2009 and master degree in Energy System in 2012. With 10-year experience in renewable energy industry, Peng has general knowledge of PV system, inverters, EV charging station and stationary energy storage system. Peng expects to contribute his knowledge in the field for a safe and clean Internet of Energy future. 

As CEO of Circulor, Doug has 25 years international experience as an Executive and Non Executive Director, operating in TMT, Financial Services, IT and Management Consultancy sectors. 
His leadership experience spans roles in large corporates (Barclays, BT, Serco, AIMIA), scale-ups (Cadence, ISD) and start-ups (Circulor, Snapdragon). 
He has broad functional experience with consistent themes being innovation (both new product and to drive transformation), delivering growth and regulation.

Mr. Petr Palkovsky is a seasoned mineral exploration and specialty chemicals executive. In 1986, he founded an environmentally-friendly specialty chemicals business, which developed water-based chemistry to replace oil-based solvents in the paint industry. He took the Company public in 1999, which was then one of the largest IPOs in Canada. Petr began working in the Balkans in 2009, exploring the Vardar Zone with the world's leading sedimentary geologists. Today, Mr. Palkovsky and his company, ELB+, is developing one of the largest deposits of Critical and Strategic minerals known globally in Serbia.
