In October 2024, China's LiPF6 production increased 9% MoM and 52% YoY. This growth was mainly due to the rise in end-use market demand and overall industry demand, leading to an increase in the operating rate of LiPF6 factories compared to the previous month. In October, LiPF6 prices slightly increased due to raw material factors. Currently, downstream buyers are cautious, and inventory levels remain low. Additionally, the operating rate of battery cell enterprises improved compared to September, allowing LiPF6 factories to flexibly adjust production according to market demand, resulting in significant production growth.
In October, the prices of lithium fluoride and anhydrous hydrogen fluoride both increased, leading to adjustments in LiPF6 prices. The changes in raw material prices gradually transmitted to LiPF6, with the average price of LiPF6 rising from 54,875 yuan/mt to 55,125 yuan/mt, an increase of 0.45%.
Looking ahead to November, end-use demand is expected to rise, driving increased demand for LiPF6. China's LiPF6 production in November is expected to increase by approximately 6% MoM and 70% YoY.
