In February 2024, the average monthly price of 280Ah prismatic LFP ESS cells was 0.43 yuan/Wh. The average monthly price of 100Ah prismatic LFP ESS cells was 0.45 yuan/Wh, which was the almost the same as the previous month.
According to SMM calculations, till the end of February, the theoretical cost of 280Ah ESS cells was 0.34 yuan/Wh, but the current low price（tax-included） of 280Ah cells is only 0.36 yuan/Wh, which also reflects the fierce competition in the market for energy storage cells. The manufacturer's profit margin is low.
Looking at February, the market transactions were relatively light during the Spring Festival holiday, and many energy storage manufacturers were reducing production and destocking, and the prices of energy storage cells were mostly stable.
However, in the future, as manufacturers resume work in March and prepare for the subsequent 430 grid connection, market transactions gradually recover. Although the current changes in the cost of energy storage cells are small, in the context of excess supply and demand, manufacturer competition may further intensify, and energy storage Battery cell prices may still have room to fall.
