1. Shipment Data
Last week (2024.11.23-2024.11.29)
SMM reported that the total steel shipments from national ports were 6.2576 million mt, down 1.0995 million mt WoW, a decrease of 15%. Among them, the total shipments from the six major northern ports (Jingtang Port, Caofeidian Port, Bayuquan Port, Tianjin New Port, Huanghua Port, Jinzhou Port) were 2.0469 million mt, down 985,500 mt WoW, accounting for 33% of the total shipments. The total shipments from the three major ports in east China (Shanghai Port, Zhangjiagang Port, Lanbei Port) were 744,600 mt, up 145,900 mt WoW, accounting for 12% of the total shipments. The total shipments from the two major ports in south China (Zhanjiang Port, Fangchenggang) were 587,700 mt, up 139,600 mt WoW, accounting for 9% of the total shipments.
2. Arrival Data

SMM reported that the total steel port arrivals in China were 6.2617 million mt, down 994,400 mt WoW, a decrease of 14%. Among them, the total port arrivals at the 13 main ports in east China were 3.447 million mt, down 719,400 mt WoW, accounting for 55% of the total arrivals last week. The total port arrivals at Guangzhou Port in south China were 642,700 mt, up 8,500 mt WoW, accounting for 10% of the total arrivals last week.

The total steel port departures globally (excluding China) were 2.2705 million mt, up 1% WoW. The total steel port departures from Chinese ports were 2.4507 million mt, down 16% WoW.
By product type,
Last week, the global port departures of steel plates were 229,100 mt, up 108% WoW. The global port departures of steel coils were 681,800 mt, up 93% WoW. The global port departures of pig iron were 732,700 mt, down 10% WoW. The global port departures of steel billets were 48.3 mt, down 16% WoW.

The total steel port arrivals at 119 Chinese ports were 42.65 mt, down 106,000 mt WoW, a decrease of 20%.
