Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 6, the Starship 7 EM-i, the latest plug-in hybrid electric SUV model under Geely’s new energy vehicle (NEV) range Galaxy, hit the market. Nationwide deliveries have already commenced, fulfilling the promise of launch-to-delivery immediacy.
The vehicle comes with five variants with two battery-powered range options—55 km and 120 km. Its pricing ranges from 103,800 yuan to 136,800 yuan, with a limited-time discount of 4,000 yuan available until January 31, 2025, bringing the prices down to 99,800 yuan to 132,800 yuan.
The Galaxy Starship 7 EM-i's exterior showcases a sleek, tech-focused aesthetic. The front features a closed-off grille and a striking, star-ringed LED light strip that spans the vehicle's width, creating a highly recognizable look. Vent-inspired designs on either side of the front bumper form an "X" shape with the grille, enhancing its bold appearance. Muscular lines along the hood add to the SUV's aggressive stance.
As a compact SUV, the Galaxy Starship 7 EM-i measures 4,740mm in length, 1,905mm in width, and 1,685mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,755mm, slightly longer than the L7 but with a marginally shorter wheelbase.
The Starship 7 EM-i's rear features a robust design with smoked, full-width taillights, blending style with dynamism.
Available in six body colors—Willow Green, Moon Silver, Snow White, Misty Grey, Ink Black, and Sky Blue—the palette draws inspiration from Hangzhou's renowned West Lake.
Inside, the Starship 7 EM-i embraces a minimalist, tech-driven aesthetic typical of the Galaxy series. Soft-touch materials and fresh color schemes enhance its premium and cozy feel.
Key interior highlights include a 10.2-inch full LCD instrument cluster, 14.6-inch floating central control screen, and a 13.8-inch W-HUD display. The SUV integrates the Flyme Auto system, delivering seamless connectivity across in-car systems, smartphones, and the cloud. Features like Flyme Link, Carlink, and HiCar offer versatile connectivity, while a 50W wireless fast-charging pad with cooling and a phone-forget reminder enhance convenience.
For practicality, the rear seats can be folded down to create 2,065 liters of space, complemented by a 528-liter trunk capacity that includes a 100-liter underfloor compartment.
The Starship 7 EM-i is powered by Geely's latest NordThor EM-i super hybrid system, featuring a 46.5% thermal efficiency engine and an ultra-integrated 11-in-1 E-DHT electric drive system. The engine produces 82 kW and 136 Nm of peak torque, while the electric motor delivers 160 kW and 262 Nm, enabling a 0-100 km/h acceleration in 7.5 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h.
The SUV achieves exceptional fuel efficiency with an AI-enabled energy management system, delivering a fuel consumption of 3.75 L/100 km and a 1,420-km combined range. This system intelligently predicts usage scenarios based on navigation and driving habits, optimizing the use of electric and fuel power for maximum efficiency, especially in varying traffic conditions.
