1. Shipment Data
Last week (2024.11.30-2024.12.6)
SMM reported that the total steel shipments from national ports were 7.5463 million mt, up 1.2887 million mt WoW, an increase of 21%. Among them, the total shipments from the six major northern ports (Jingtang Port, Caofeidian Port, Bayuquan Port, Tianjin New Port, Huanghua Port, Jinzhou Port) were 2.9699 million mt, up 923,000 mt WoW, accounting for 39% of the total shipments. The total shipments from the three major ports in east China (Shanghai Port, Zhangjiagang Port, Lanbei Port) were 791,700 mt, up 47,100 mt WoW, accounting for 10% of the total shipments. The total shipments from the two major ports in south China (Zhanjiang Port, Fangchenggang) were 409,200 mt, down 178,500 mt WoW, accounting for 5% of the total shipments.
2. Arrival Data

SMM reported that the total steel port arrivals in China were 7.0027 million mt, up 741,000 mt WoW, an increase of 12%. Among them, the total port arrivals at the 13 main ports in east China were 392,680 mt, up 479,800 mt WoW, accounting for 56% of the total arrivals last week. The total port arrivals at Guangzhou Port in south China were 533,100 mt, down 109,600 mt WoW, accounting for 8% of the total arrivals last week.

1. Departure Data

The total steel port departures globally (excluding China) were 2.3551 million mt, an increase of 4% WoW. The total steel port departures from Chinese ports were 2.7775 million mt, an increase of 13% WoW.
By product type,
Last week, the global port departures of steel plates were 210,200 mt, a decrease of 8% WoW. The global port departures of steel coils were 519,200 mt, a decrease of 24% WoW. The global port departures of pig iron were 594,800 mt, a decrease of 19% WoW. The global port departures of steel billets were 41.73 mt, a decrease of 14% WoW.

The total steel port arrivals at 119 Chinese ports were 57.35 mt, up 147,000 mt WoW, an increase of 34%.
