SMM, December 20: According to customs data, China's total lithium carbonate imports in November 2024 were approximately 19,235 mt, down 17% MoM, with an average import price of around $9,584/mt. Among these, lithium carbonate imports from Chile were about 17,861 mt, down 32% MoM, accounting for 63% of the total imports; imports from Argentina were approximately 6,270 mt, up 31% MoM, accounting for 33% of the total imports. Chile and Argentina remain the primary sources of China's lithium carbonate imports, maintaining a relatively strong position. The volume of lithium carbonate exported from Chile to China in October and November was around 17,000 mt. Due to shipping delays, the volume arriving in China from Chile in November significantly decreased. It is expected that shipments will gradually arrive at Chinese ports in December, leading to a noticeable increase in domestic lithium carbonate imports.
