Beijing (Gasgoo)- On December 17, the first batch of Venucia-branded electric taxis was successfully shipped to Myanmar, marking the launch of the country's government taxi procurement program, according to Dongfeng Nissan's recent WeChat post.

The initiative includes the purchase of 500 Venucia electric vehicles (EVs), with deliveries expected to be completed by 2025.

This shipment represents Myanmar's first order of imported electric taxis, representing a significant milestone in its transition to renewable energy. Local reports indicate that Myanmar plans to gradually replace oil-fueled taxis with EVs, with Yangon alone requiring 60,000 vehicles. Recognizing this demand, the Yangon City Taxi Association expressed interest in the Venucia VX6 and initiated collaboration with Dongfeng Nissan.

Dongfeng Nissan has been accelerating its international expansion efforts. The Sino-Japanese joint venture has completed the development of two GCC-specific vehicle models and four globally-oriented models under the Venucia brand for overseas markets. Additionally, it has established a robust after-sales service and warranty system for its international customers.

Leveraging shareholder resources, including Dongfeng Motor Industry Import & Export Co., Ltd. and Nissan Motor's global network, Dongfeng Nissan is actively expanding its overseas sales channels.
