As of December 18, Bensteel Group Mining Company had cumulatively recovered 8.523 million mt of ore, completing this year's ore recovery production increase target 13 days ahead of schedule. This effectively filled the raw material gap for the increase in iron ore concentrates production and alleviated the current production pressure at the mining sites.
Over the years, Bensteel Group Mining Company's waste dumps have undergone continuous recovery and multiple rounds of ore retrieval, leading to a gradual depletion of ore resources within the dumps. This year, the company faced challenges head-on, innovated its operations, and tapped into potential by identifying mixed ore areas in the dumps, recovering ore from mixed ore zones not yet covered by waste rock, and locating new recovery areas. Additionally, 11 small-scale recovery production lines were added, creating favorable conditions for achieving the ore recovery production increase target. Meanwhile, the company leveraged the advantages of the newly commissioned project at Waitoushan Mine and large-scale equipment at the beneficiation plant. By optimizing the ore blending structure, reducing the raw material particle size before grinding, and implementing pre-discarding of tailings before beneficiation, the company effectively addressed issues such as low-grade recovered ore and its adverse impact on iron ore concentrates production.
In the future, the company will continue to deepen its efforts in utilizing ore resources from waste dumps. On the basis of recovering low-grade ore, it will increase the external sales of waste rock after dry separation, achieving "dual growth" in recovered ore production and waste rock sales profitability.
Bensteel Group Mining Company completed this year's full-year ore recovery and production increase task 13 days ahead of schedule.
