Supply and Demand for Lead Ingots Decline, Primary Lead Enterprises Maintain Low In-Plant Inventory [SMM Primary Lead Inventory Weekly Review]
Dec 27, 2024, at 5:24 pm
SMM December 27 News: According to an SMM survey, as of December 27, the in-plant inventory of primary lead major delivery brands stood at 0.62 million mt, down approximately 200 mt from December 20.
According to the survey, this week, due to factors such as maintenance and environmental protection, primary lead smelting enterprises in regions like Hunan were in a state of production cuts, leading to tightened lead ingot supply. Meanwhile, environmental protection-driven production restrictions once again hit secondary lead smelters in Anhui, resulting in an overall tight supply in the lead market. Additionally, at year-end, downstream enterprises closed accounts and conducted inventory checks, significantly reducing their procurement volume of lead ingots. As a result, the in-plant inventory of primary lead enterprises remained at a low level.
