In December, China's ESS battery cell production decreased 12% MoM, up 229% YoY.
As the year-end grid connection period in China has arrived, the demand for ESS battery cell procurement has gradually pulled back. However, the overseas market, influenced by uncertainties surrounding the US presidential election, is still experiencing a "rush for installations." Consequently, battery cell enterprises with a higher proportion of overseas business continue to see robust order demand. Thanks to this, the YoY reduction in ESS battery cell demand for the industry is relatively small compared to historical levels. From the production side, as the previous ESS battery cell inventory has already dropped to a low level and there is still some demand support, the production reduction in ESS battery cells is also relatively small.
In January, China's ESS battery cell production is expected to decrease 16% MoM, up 15% YoY.
