SMM January 6 News:
Rare Earth Ore
Prices: Rare earth carbonate prices were approximately 32,300 yuan/mt, monazite prices were around 36,800 yuan/mt, and medium-yttrium, europium-rich ore standard ore prices were about 170,000 yuan/mt.
Supply and Demand: Currently, market activity at the mining end is relatively low, suppliers show limited willingness to sell, and market trading remains sluggish.
Rare Earth Oxides
Prices: The mainstream quotation range for Pr-Nd oxide was 396,000-398,000 yuan/mt; the transaction range for dysprosium oxide was around 1.61-1.62 million yuan/mt, and terbium oxide quotations were approximately 5.6-5.64 million yuan/mt.
Supply and Demand: Last week, upstream separation plants showed low willingness to quote. Although procurement volumes from metal plants were relatively small, oxide quotations remained firm, low-priced supplies tightened, and actual transaction prices for rare earth oxides slightly increased.
Rare Earth Metals
Prices: The transaction price for Pr-Nd alloy was approximately 488,000-492,000 yuan/mt, dysprosium-iron prices corresponding to oxide quotations were around 1.56-1.57 million yuan/mt, and terbium metal quotations were about 6.95-7 million yuan/mt.
Supply and Demand: Last week, with no significant recovery in orders from magnet manufacturers, inquiry and transaction activities for metal products showed no notable improvement. Although suppliers slightly raised quotations in line with oxide prices, actual transaction performance fell short of expectations.
Magnetic Materials
Prices: NdFeB blank prices for NdFeB blank N35 (Ce) were reported at 125-135 yuan/kg; NdFeB blank 38H prices were reported at 170-180 yuan/kg.
Supply and Demand: Last week, rare earth prices remained relatively stable. The production status of the magnetic materials market was steady, with procurement primarily focused on small-scale restocking. Order volumes did not show significant growth, and companies maintained a wait-and-see attitude toward future market trends.
NdFeB Scrap
Prices: NdFeB scrap Pr-Nd prices were reported at 403-417 yuan/kg; NdFeB scrap dysprosium prices were reported at 1,559-1,580 yuan/kg; NdFeB scrap terbium prices were reported at 5,047-5,069 yuan/kg.
Supply and Demand: Last week, the scrap market remained stable, with overall trading activity relatively subdued. Restocking sentiment in the market increased, with most buyers preferring to restock at lower prices while remaining cautious about higher prices.
