This week, the prices of 5-series and 6-series consumer-grade, as well as 8-series power-grade ternary cathode precursors, remained stable.
In terms of raw material costs, the prices of nickel sulphate, cobalt sulphate, and manganese sulphate were slightly stable. As a result, the prices of ternary cathode precursors also remained steady.
Demand side, due to reduced production efficiency at ternary cathode material plants during the Chinese New Year and fewer overall working days, February's planned production decreased by about 10% compared to January. This led to weaker demand for precursors. Supply side, affected by the holiday and reduced orders, the supply situation of precursors also weakened. Currently, the signing of long-term contracts by precursor enterprises remains less than ideal, and the negotiation between buyers and sellers continues.
Looking ahead to next week, considering that nickel sulphate prices are expected to remain stable, cobalt sulphate prices may decline, and manganese sulphate prices might rise slightly, precursor prices are anticipated to see varying degrees of decline, with higher-priced products likely experiencing relatively larger drops.
