The World's First GW-Level Perovskite PV Module Production Line Commences Operation
Feb 07, 2025, at 8:44 am
[The World's First GW-Level Perovskite PV Module Production Line Commences Operation] On February 5, the world's first GW-level perovskite PV module production line, constructed by Extreme Energy, commenced operation. This marks the official entry of perovskite technology into a new era of GW-level mass production. The GW-level production line of Extreme Energy is capable of mass-producing ultra-large perovskite PV modules and pioneering large-scale BIPV products. Once the project reaches full production, it is expected to produce approximately 1.8 million perovskite PV modules annually. (Polaris Solar PV Network)
On February 5, the world's first GW-level perovskite PV module production line, constructed by Extreme Electric Solar, commenced operation. This marks the official entry of perovskite technology into a new era of GW-level mass production. The GW-level production line of Extreme Electric Solar is capable of mass-producing ultra-large perovskite PV modules and pioneering large-area BIPV products. Once the project reaches full production, it is expected to produce approximately 1.8 million pieces of perovskite PV modules annually.
It is reported that on November 5, 2024, during the phase when the entire process of the GW-level production line was fully integrated, the first 2.8 m² perovskite module rolled off the production line, achieving a power output of 450W and a full-area efficiency of 16.1%, setting a global record for the largest area and highest power of perovskite modules. With the gradual introduction of pilot production processes, the technological level of this production line continues to improve, aiming for a mass production efficiency target of 20% for modules in 2025.
