SMM, February 7: According to market feedback, the weekly production of sample silicon enterprises in Xinjiang was 28,845 mt, with a weekly operating rate of 60%, showing a slight increase compared to pre-Chinese New Year levels. Operating rates varied among silicon enterprises of different scales in Xinjiang. The top three silicon enterprises in terms of capacity either maintained full operation or continued to increase their operating rates, while smaller enterprises showed weaker performance in operating rates. During the Chinese New Year holiday, the silicon metal market was in a holiday shutdown state. The in-plant inventory of sample silicon enterprises showed normal inventory buildup. As post-holiday market transactions gradually resume, in-plant inventory is expected to decline later.
The weekly production of sample silicon enterprises in north-west China was 11,130 mt, with a weekly operating rate of 82%, which was basically flat compared to pre-Chinese New Year levels. The statistical scope for north-west China includes Qinghai, Ningxia, and Gansu.
The weekly production of sample silicon enterprises in Yunnan was 2,430 mt, with a weekly operating rate of 29%, remaining stable compared to pre-holiday levels. In-plant inventory showed slight fluctuations. During the Chinese New Year holiday, no actual production cuts occurred among sample silicon enterprises in Yunnan, and some enterprises that had originally planned production cuts temporarily maintained normal production. Silicon enterprise quotations were basically flat compared to pre-holiday levels.
The weekly production of sample silicon enterprises in Sichuan was 0 mt, with a weekly operating rate of 0%. Currently, all sample silicon enterprises remain in a shutdown state, while one furnace outside the sample group ceased production at the end of January.
