Today, spot copper in North China was quoted at a discount of 280-240 yuan/mt against the front-month contract, with an average discount of 260 yuan/mt, up 10 yuan/mt WoW. Transaction prices ranged from 76,670-76,770 yuan/mt, with an average price of 76,720 yuan/mt, down 110 yuan/mt from the previous trading day. Copper prices weakened slightly today, coupled with eased downstream funding pressure at the beginning of the month, leading to slightly improved market activity compared to last week. Spot premiums/discounts continued to rise slightly.
