Meanwhile, due to the high operating rates of secondary lead smelters and strong demand for scrap batteries, most smelters reported tight raw material supply this week, leading to a significant increase in scrap battery purchase prices.

Meanwhile, due to the high operating rate of secondary lead smelters and their strong demand for scrap batteries, most smelters reported tight raw material supply this week, leading to a significant increase in the purchase prices of scrap batteries. As of March 14, 2025, the mainstream tax-inclusive purchase price for waste EV batteries ranged from 10,050-10,250 yuan/mt. Last week, some secondary crude lead smelters in certain regions suspended production due to environmental protection-related controls. Currently, the market supply of secondary crude lead remains limited, and some downstream enterprises reported that the price of secondary crude lead is almost on par with that of secondary refined lead.
