Today, in North China, spot #1 copper cathode was quoted at a discount of 150-110 yuan/mt against the front-month contract, with an average discount of 130 yuan/mt, unchanged from the previous trading day. Transaction prices ranged from 80,200-80,650 yuan/mt, with an average price of 80,425 yuan/mt, up 140 yuan/mt from the previous trading day. Copper prices remained high, while consumption was weak. Inventory at downstream processing enterprises increased, and low operating rates led to insufficient demand, resulting in sluggish trading activity in the spot market.
