SMM March 20 News:
Rare Earth Ore
Prices: Rare earth carbonate prices are approximately 36,000 yuan/mt, monazite prices are around 42,500 yuan/mt, and medium-yttrium, europium-rich ore standard ore prices are about 189,500 yuan/mt.
Supply and Demand: Currently, suppliers at the mining end remain reluctant to sell, raw ore supply is still tight, but separation plants show weak purchase willingness, and market sentiment is dominated by a wait-and-see attitude.
Rare Earth Oxides
Prices: Pr-Nd oxide quotation range is approximately 443,000-445,000 yuan/mt, mainstream quotations for dysprosium oxide are in the range of 1.68-1.7 million yuan/mt, and terbium oxide prices have been adjusted to around 6.55-6.6 million yuan/mt.
Supply and Demand: Yesterday, rare earth oxide prices remained generally stable, market purchasing activity was low, and some traders actively sold at lower prices, leading to a pullback in some oxide prices. However, factory quotations remained relatively firm, and the overall price fluctuation of mainstream products was relatively small.
Rare Earth Metals
Prices: Mainstream quotations for Pr-Nd alloy are in the range of 543,000-545,000 yuan/mt, dysprosium-iron alloy prices are approximately 1.63-1.65 million yuan/mt, and terbium metal prices are around 8.1-8.15 million yuan/mt.
Supply and Demand: Yesterday, metal factories slightly lowered their quotations following oxide price adjustments, but magnetic material enterprises still showed weak purchase willingness. Actual trading volume in the market was very limited, with most participants adopting a cautious wait-and-see approach.
Magnetic Materials
Prices: NdFeB blank prices—NdFeB blank N38 (Ce) closed at 145-155 yuan/kg; NdFeB blank 40M closed at 191-201 yuan/kg; NdFeB blank 40H closed at 195-205 yuan/kg; NdFeB blank 45SH (Ce) closed at 245-265 yuan/kg.
Supply and Demand: Yesterday, rare earth prices remained stable. However, due to slower-than-expected order growth from magnetic material enterprises and significantly lower order prices compared to market averages, purchasing enthusiasm was dampened, and market sentiment leaned heavily towards a wait-and-see approach.
NdFeB Scrap
Prices: PrNd recycled from NdFeB scrap closed at 469-480 yuan/kg; dysprosium recycled from NdFeB scrap closed at 1,635-1,679 yuan/kg; terbium recycled from NdFeB scrap closed at 5,287-5,341 yuan/kg.
Supply and Demand: Yesterday, overall quotations in the scrap market remained stable. However, due to tight supply, some transactions were concluded at relatively high prices. Manufacturers' inventories generally remained at normal levels, and procurement activities were mainly driven by unavoidable demand, with price inversion becoming increasingly evident.
