Today, spot prices of #1 copper cathode against the front-month contract in north China were at a discount of 70-30 yuan/mt, with an average discount of 50 yuan/mt, up by 10 yuan/mt from the previous trading day. The transaction prices ranged from 76,050 to 76,210 yuan/mt, with an average of 76,130 yuan/mt, up by 170 yuan/mt from the previous trading day. Today, spot premiums and discounts in east China rose, and suppliers in the north China market attempted to raise prices, but weak downstream demand failed to support the price increase, resulting in low trading activity.
