Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 18, at an industrial conference on integrated development of supply, industrial, and value chains, CATL signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Jinhua Communications Investment Group, according to a post on CATL's WeChat account.
The partnership aims to accelerate the transition toward zero-carbon industrial development, focusing on areas such as zero-carbon dry ports, new energy buses, logistics and warehousing services, electrification of heavy trucks, and battery swapping infrastructure. Together, the two parties plan to establish a comprehensive zero-carbon energy supply ecosystem.
Their collaboration will center on three key areas: zero-carbon application scenarios, intelligent energy management, and global supply chain coordination.
In building zero-carbon scenarios, the two sides will leverage CATL's expertise in photovoltaics, energy storage, and battery swapping for heavy-duty trucks, combined with Jinhua Communications Investment's on-the-ground operational resources. The goal is to jointly develop an integrated energy network encompassing solar power, storage, charging, swapping, and inspection. This initiative will facilitate the full adoption of clean energy at bus depots and railway ports while promoting the deployment of battery swapping stations to support the electrification of freight transportation.
On the energy management front, the companies will co-develop a smart energy control system for inland ports, advancing industrial intelligence and establishing a model "zero-carbon smart railway port."
Globally, the partnership will integrate warehousing and logistics resources across the Yangtze River Delta and tap into the China-Europe freight train network within the Belt and Road framework. This collaboration aims to create a seamless "zero-carbon logistics corridor," offering a green channel for the global export of new energy products and equipment.
