Journalists learned today (April 21) that the State Administration for Market Regulation recently announced the list of specific institutions that have obtained the qualification for testing capabilities under the mandatory national standard "Technical Specifications for the Safety of E-bikes."

Currently, six institutions have obtained the qualification for testing capabilities under the new national standard for e-bikes.

Wuxi Institute of Inspection, Testing, and Certification

CCIC Western Testing Co., Ltd.

CVC Testing Technology Co., Ltd.

Beijing Institute of Product Quality Supervision and Inspection

Guangdong Institute of Product Quality Supervision and Inspection

China Electronics Standardization Institute

The new national standard, which took effect on September 1, has made significant improvements and enhancements in areas such as vehicle quality, motor power limits, fire resistance, plastic content, and anti-tampering. This will further improve the intrinsic safety level of products and provide the public with safer and more practical transportation tools. Producers need to adjust product design and production processes, complete testing and certification in accordance with the new national standard requirements during the transition period.

Starting from September 1, all newly produced e-bikes must comply with the new national standard requirements. More testing institutions will obtain qualifications in the future, and the specific list of institutions and their capabilities can be found on the official websites of the State Administration for Market Regulation and provincial market regulatory departments.
