Aptiv and FAW-Volkswagen signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to form a joint laboratory aimed at advancing smart vehicle technologies in China.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- During the 21st Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition (the AUTO SHANGHAI 2025), Aptiv and FAW-Volkswagen ("FAW-VW") signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to form a joint laboratory aimed at advancing smart vehicle technologies in China.

The collaboration will deepen the application of innovation and foster a strategic, mutually beneficial partnership that leverages each party's strengths to promote the widespread adoption of intelligent automotive solutions.

The joint lab will focus on core vehicle technologies, including electronic and electrical architectures, body domain controllers, intelligent cockpits, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). By integrating technical expertise, resources, and talent, the initiative aims to enhance product performance and quality, improve competitiveness, and accelerate the commercialization of innovations. This all-round collaboration with FAW-VW will drive innovation in core technologies and support the industry's shift toward intelligent, software-defined vehicles."
