On November 13, during the event at the main venue's Green Zone News Center, BYD signed an agreement with the Azerbaijani government to implement an electric bus project.

During the conference, BYD's General Manager for Central Asia in the European Auto Sales Division, Mr. Cao Shuang, attended a side event titled "China's Path to Green and Low-Carbon Automotive Development". In a keynote speech, Mr. Cao shared insights on sustainable development, drawing from BYD's 30 years of innovation in electric vehicles, energy storage, and renewable energy.”

"Over the past three decades, BYD has remained committed to open collaboration, leveraging a comprehensive supply chain to foster a global green ecosystem and drive sustainable energy transformation," said Cao Shuang. Ahead of the conference, BYD delivered 160 custom-designed 12-meter K9UD electric buses for the COP29. The fleet was inspected by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on October 31 and has since been officially deployed in Baku. The buses are now in service, providing transportation for dignitaries, business leaders, and media representatives from over 80 countries attending the summit.
