Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Newlink NaaS ("NAAS") recently forged a new partnership with IM Motors to establish charging service interconnectivity, according to a press release issued by NAAS on September 23 via its WeChat account. This collaboration will allow Newlink NaaS to open access of the nationwide fast and ultra-fast public charging network under its strategic partner FLEETIN to IM Motors' users.
Through this partnership, IM Motors vehicle owners will gain broader charging options and benefit from smarter, more efficient services. The collaboration aims to streamline charging processes such as interconnection of stations, payment integration, and settlement, providing an enhanced experience for IM Motors users.
Under the agreement, both parties will leverage their technical, platform, and resource advantages to improve platform interconnectivity and upgrade the charging experience. IM Motors users will be able to access real-time data on charging station locations, prices, equipment status, and parking fees via the brand's app or in-car navigation systems. A simple QR code scan will enable users to enjoy seamless services, including finding, charging, and paying with ease, significantly improving the speed and efficiency of locating charging stations.
The partnership comes at a time when both NEV sales and charging demand are on the rise in China. According to China’s National Energy Administration, China's NEV charging volume reached 51.3 billion kWh in the first half of 2024, a 40% year-on-year surge. In August 2024, the penetration rate of NEV sales reached 53.9%, marking two consecutive months above 50%. The quality of charging services is now a key factor influencing market performance and user satisfaction in the NEV market.
IM Motors, a premium electric vehicle maker co-backed by SAIC Motor, Alibaba, and Zhangjiang Hi-Tech, has seen strong growth, with sales surging over 200% year-on-year in both June and July 2024. The new partnership with Newlink NaaS will expand IM Motors' energy replenishment network, offering a more extensive and efficient charging service for its users.
Newlink NaaS, a global provider of energy replenishment services, continues to expand its charging network, integrating fueling and charging services into the dashboard of smart vehicles. It has already partnered with several leading NEV manufacturers in China, including BYD, Geely, Hyundai, ZEEKR, Great Wall Motor, NIO, Li Auto, and XPENG. The company provides a comprehensive range of services for the entire NEV ecosystem, including site selection consultation, hardware and software procurement, engineering, operations, energy storage, and photovoltaics, enhancing the charging experience for drivers and boosting operational efficiency across the industry.
